Prescription Refills

Phone Calls

Please feel free to call our office if you have any questions regarding your condition, medication and treatment.  A physician, or a physician's assistant, will return your call within the same day your message is received.   We suggest that you give us 24 hours to refill any prescription you may need - this time period is to recommended so that we may access your medical records and the prescription guidelines that are recommended by your managed care plan. No prescriptions will be refilled on weekends or holidays.

Most incoming calls are handled by office staff, permitting physicians to care for patients with minimal interruptions.  If a call is urgent, the physician may wish to speak to you immediately; otherwise, your call will be returned as soon as possible

Telephone Consultations Once our treatment plan has begun, we may request that you call our office for test results or for follow-up; these telephone consultations may save you time and/or expense but, if your condition changes, or a new symptom develops, we may request that you contact your primary care physician, or come in for further evaluation.
Insurance Please present your insurance card and claim form at the time of your visit.  You may submit the insurance copy of your itemized bill to your insurance carrier, or we will help you prepare your insurance form.

If your insurance carrier does not make a payment within 30 days of your filing your claim, you are responsible for payment regardless of insurance coverage.   If meeting this financial obligation will present a problem for you, please let us know.

Remember, in may cases, insurance - including Medicare - won't cover an entire bill for service, so it's important that you not ignore bills.

Financial Arrangements

Collection Policy

Our business personnel have extensive experience in all areas of the managed care delivery system.  They will handle the filing of your insurance, and the authorization of special testing and surgical procedures.  They will advise you on the benefits and financial arrangements of your insurance plan.   They are professionals, and they will be able to help you with your questions regarding your individual plan.

All bills are due within 90 days of service.  To enable you to take care of your financial obligations for your care, we do accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover. Our office offers Visa roll-over to pay your co-balance after your insurance pays or to make more convenient monthly payments on your account.

If you do have financial problems, we do our best to work with you so that your account does not become past due.

If your account does become past due - 90 days with no payment - and you have not arranged a satisfactory payment plan with us, we will take appropriate action to recover the balance, through a collection agency, small claims court or legal services; attorney's fees will be added to the balance due.

Inpatient and Emergency Room Fees

For inpatient care, patients most often are admitted to Memorial Medical Center, but occasionally to Touro Infirmary, Pendleton Memorial Methodist, East Jefferson, St. Charles General, Children's, Doctors and Lakeland hospitals.

Your insurance carrier will be billed by this office for inpatient or emergency room services performed by your physician.  These charges are separate from the hospital's fees and will not be reflected on your hospital statement.
