Southern Orthopaedic Specialists is a group of experienced board certified and fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeons serving patients in the Greater New Orleans area. Our multispecialty group of surgeons treat a full range of orthopedic conditions and injuries.

Biologic Treatments
Biologic treatments, sometimes referred to as “regenerative medicine,” are a newer orthopedic treatment option that can be beneficial for patients with arthritis or partial tendon tears. These treatments, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and mesenchymal stem cell injections, can potentially help these patients delay or even avoid the need for surgery. Dr. Michael McNulty has worked with biologic treatments since his fellowship training, and Dr. Claude Williams and Dr. Timothy Finney are experienced with biologic treatments, as well.
Hip Arthroscopy
Hip arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that is often used to treat femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), a condition that is common among younger, more active patients. Arthroscopy allows our surgeons to visualize the hip to complete the procedure through very small incisions. This can lead to a quicker recovery than open surgery. Dr. Chad Millet is very experienced in this procedure.
Hip Replacement
Hip replacement surgery may be considered for patients with severe arthritis that interferes with daily life. Our hip replacement team includes Dr. Chad Millet and Dr. Gregor Hoffman. We offer 2 different surgical approaches to total hip replacement and use the latest techniques and technologies, including robotic hip replacement.
Knee Replacement
Knee replacement surgery may be considered for patients with severe arthritis that interferes with daily life. Our knee replacement team includes Dr. Chad Millet, Dr. Gregor Hoffman and Dr. Timothy Finney. In addition to being experienced in traditional knee replacement approaches, we also offer the latest techniques and technologies, including robotic knee replacement.
Total Shoulder Replacement
If shoulder arthritis affects a patient’s daily life and nonsurgical treatments have not helped, total shoulder replacement may be recommended. Dr. Claude Williams, one of our total shoulder replacement specialists, has over 20 years of experience with both traditional and reverse total shoulder replacements. He offers the latest technologies in shoulder replacement, like 3D mapping, to provide the best possible results. In addition to Dr. Williams, Dr. Gregor Hoffman, Dr. Timothy Finney, and Dr. Michael McNulty are also experienced with total shoulder replacements.
