About Michael J. McNulty, MD

Dr. Michael McNulty is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. His interests include arthroscopic and minimally invasive treatment of shoulder, elbow, hip and knee disorders as well as fracture care. He is also at the forefront of biologic medicine, providing cell therapy options like mesenchymal stem cell therapy and PRP (platelet rich plasma).

Dr. McNulty received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. He then attended medical school and completed his orthopaedic training at the University of Texas-Southwestern in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. McNulty completed his orthopaedic sports medicine training under the guidance of Dr. James Andrews at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. While there, he assisted in the orthopaedic care of the Washington Redskins, University of Alabama, Troy University, Alabama Ballet, and the Birmingham Barons and Montgomery Biscuits minor league baseball teams. He also underwent advanced orthopaedic trauma training through AO International in Auckland, New Zealand.

Previously, Dr. McNulty assisted in the care of the New Orleans Zephyrs baseball team. He is currently the team physician for Isidore Newman High School.
